The Balsa USA Laker has always been a great value and now it is even better. Our new kit has been dramatically improved to simplify the construction of the model. We have also made several other modifications to make your building experience enjoyable. The all new step-by-step, photo illustrated instructions will guide you through the entire assembly of the model leaving nothing to your imagination. The plans have also been drawn to clarify and simplify them as well. The kit includes only the best AAA balsa, select basswood, aircraft grade plywood, and model grade Lite-Ply. There are 10 different die-cut sheets and several jig-cut parts to help speed up the construction of the model. The kit is complete with full size rolled plans, an extensive hardware assortment, and a comprehensive instruction manual with over 105 photos and illustrations. The Laker has over 800 sq. in. of wing area and only weighs about 6-1/2 lbs. This adds up to a wing loading that is less than 19 oz. per sq. foot which is less than quite a few trainers on the market! Talk about slow flight, you can easily slow down the Laker to just about a walk for landing! If you are looking for a model that excels both off the land or water, the Laker is just what you have been waiting for. Landing gear must be removed for water flight.
